James Shaw Jr. was in a local wafflehouse as a gunman entered the building. As the gunman started taking shots, james hid. but after hearing the shooting stop, due to an empty clip, james wrestled the gun out of this unknow mans hands. While doing so, James burned his hand on the muzzle of the still hot assault rifle. while in an interview james stated that he did it purely out of selfish intent. He says "if i was going to die, he was going to have to work for it". Although he confessed to the intent of his own actions, victims of the shooting still call him a hero. he saved dozens of lives. A question i have after reading this is why didnt he take the credit for saving all the lives? no one would know any better?
